Dear participants,
 
On behalf of everyone living with MS in our area, I want to thank you for everything you’ve done for the Bike MS: City to Shore Ride this year.

Your fundraising efforts have propelled this ride to an amazing $5.15 million this year. Despite a tough economy, you persevered and dug deeper, and you accomplished something nobody thought possible. With that kind of spirit, who says we can’t find a cure for MS?

I was diagnosed with MS 25 years ago, and I’ve been involved in this ride for 23 of them as a volunteer and as captain of the Pepper Pedalers team. While I don’t have the balance to ride, you should know that you carried me and 11,000 others with you on your journey.

When I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I didn’t know what it was or how to spell it. I didn’t know how it would impact my life. Thanks to riders like you, the first drugs for MS were introduced just a few years later. Now, we have more treatments on the horizon that promise to lessen the effects of this disease for many people, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
