The Bike MS: City to Shore Ride is thrilled to be celebrating 34 years of finishing the ride in Ocean City, N.J. This allows our participants, volunteers and their families a one of a kind experience. We want to thank the City of Ocean City for its continued support of the ride and the warm welcome extended to our cyclists each year. Check out the information below to ensure you make the most out of City to Shore and your trip to Ocean City. 

NOTE TO CYCLISTS RIDING SUNDAY: All cyclists must be on the road by 8 a.m. Streets will be closed from 9 a.m. for the OCNJ Half Marathon. Start location is same as Saturday finish line. Information regarding Sunday breakfast, luggage transportation, bike parking and transportation to PATCO start can be found in the appropriate sections below.

No Massage for General Ridership Saturday: Due to a new NJ law requiring that all massage therapists operating in the state be licensed, recruitment of professionals to provide this service at City to Shore is unfortunately well below our normal levels again this year. To ensure all VIP’s have the ability to receive their promised free massage, massage therapy for the general ridership on Saturday will be only offered if space/time is available. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Bike Parking and Luggage

Bike parking
Temporary and secure overnight bike parking is available (note the orange banners indicating bike parking). No bikes are permitted into the ‘tented’ area of the finish line.

   - Temporary Bike Parking: Saturday from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. & Sunday 5 a.m. - 8 a.m. 
    Any bikes remaining at 8 a.m. on Saturday will be transported to the PATCO finish line. 

  - Secure Overnight Parking: Saturday from 7 p.m. to Sunday 5 a.m. During this time bikes are locked and no access to bike parking is permitted.

Remember to put your luggage tag on your bag, which can be found in your rider number packet. We will transport your luggage to the finish line each day. All luggage is dropped off and sorted numerically at the luggage tent along 6th street.

Cyclists riding back on Sunday: You may drop your luggage in the NFI trailer, located on 6th street at Bike Parking, by 8 a.m. All luggage on this truck will be transported to the PATCO finish line.

Transportation: Back to Start Location and to Overnight Housing

Transportation to overnight stay (Saturday)
Jitney service is provided from the Ocean City finish line to the campground and all hotels, condos and team housing reservations made through Access Ocean City . If you made alternate housing reservations (not through Access Ocean City and not at a campground), you will need to make your own transportation arrangements to and from the Ocean City finish line. Jitneys are located on 6th Street between Atlantic Avenue and the Boardwalk.

Transportation back to your start location (Saturday)
Not staying over? Bus transportation is provided for you and your bike back to your start location on Saturday. All buses depart from the transportation center located at 6th and Atlantic Avenue in Ocean City.

*• PATCO's Woodcrest Station (75 and 100 mile start): 1 to 6 p.m.
• Hammonton (45 mile start): 1 to 5 p.m.
• Mays Landing (25 mile start): 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A return trip to PATCO's Woodcrest station (75 and 100 mile start ONLY) will depart on Sunday between 7:30 and 8 a.m.
You MUST sign up for Sunday's shuttle service on Saturday at 6th and Atlantic Avenue in Ocean City and arrive on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. sharp to load your bike and prepare for departure. Release is expected between 7:30 and 8 a.m. Anyone arriving after 7:45 a.m. may not depart until 8:30 or 9 a.m. when the site is closed. Please note: Return trips to Hammonton and Mays Landing are not offered on Sunday.

Saturday Dinner & Sunday Breakfast

Ocean City IdentifierSaturday Dinner: Join us on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. for a pasta dinner at the Music Pier on the boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace OR the Ocean City High School located at 6th and Atlantic Avenue.

Be sure to check out the promotions below in the “Experiencing Ocean City” section for local restaurants offering dinner specials to cyclists! Also, drop in wherever you see this identifier (pictured at right) and inquire about special Bike MS: City to Shore promotions.

Cyclists riding back on Sunday: Breakfast will be open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Music Pier and the OC High School (same locations as Saturday dinner). All cyclists must be on the road by 8 a.m. 

Specifics for Teams

Don't let the fun stop once your team crosses the finish line. In addition to having your photo taken at the commemorative photo booth, extend the fun with team housing, dinners and parties. Check out our tips to make the most out of your team experience in Ocean City.

Team housing provides a centralized location for team members, volunteers, family and friends to come together and share experiences from the day while also building camaraderie between your team members (and it's fun!). It's also a great way to advertise your team/company.

-Many local restaurants will offer catering and delivery right to your team housing location. Be sure to check out the promotions information below for information on specific locations offering specials to Bike MS: City to Shore cyclists.

Ask your team members if they know anyone with an available house for the weekend or book your team housing through Access Ocean City. As noted above, we provide transportation to and from your team housing if booked through Access Ocean City.

Team Parties: Many restaurants will host a private party ride weekend! This is a great opportunity to throw a memorable post-ride celebration for your team and supporters in one of Ocean City’s many great restaurants. The promotions info below has specifics on locations offering private parties, however you will need to contact the venue directly for specific details.

Did you know? The Travel Channel named Ocean City Boardwalk "One of the Best in the U.S."

A trip to Ocean City would not be complete without visiting the boardwalk and it couldn’t be more convenient, with access from the 6th street side of the Finish Line Festivities area! With rides, shopping and your favorite treats, it truly has something for everyone. The boardwalk starts buzzing early in the morning. Spanning two and a half miles, it becomes an open-air wooden by-way for biking, walking, jogging and people-watching (distance is conveniently marked every quarter mile).

Ocean City Beaches

Did you know? The Travel Channel named Ocean City "New Jersey's Most Popular Beach!”

City to Shore takes place outside during Ocean City’s off-season, so beach tags are not required. 8 miles of pristine beach which can be accessed right off of the boardwalk. The Ocean City Sports and Civic Center offers the Surf Chair Program, providing everyone the opportunity to enjoy the surf and sand. Advance reservations are recommended. Click here for details.

Downtown Ocean City

Ocean City is home to the largest downtown shopping district along the Jersey Shore. Located between the beach and bay on Asbury Avenue, it's home to more than 100 shops, restaurants, service businesses and entertainment niches from 6th to 11th Streets along Asbury Avenue.

Bike MS Run OC, Sunday

Riding City to Shore on Saturday only and looking for another challenge? Are your friends and family staying over? Participate in the OCNJ Half Marathon (13.1 miles), 10 mile non-competitive walk or 5K run on Sunday. In addition to the usual great OCNJ swag, special recognition will be given to those participating in both events.
